Mexicue was founded based on the need for authentic, homemade cooking - and started with a food truck delighting patrons all over Brooklyn and Manhattan. As the idea and following for Mexican BBQ grew, the concept evolved into one restaurant, and then a few more - finally making it's way into Connecticut!
Brie Bites Appetizer - a 4 ingredient, 5 minute recipe! This is always a crowd pleaser, something pop-able, easy to eat and requires no utensils (you'll be the host's favorite guest)! This recipe is not Gluten Free and does have nuts, so you'll want to be sure that this is appropriate for the event! I keep these ingredients stocked at all times for easy access to this recipe.
Local Connecticut friends, this one is for you! This past weekend I stopped into Avon Prime Meats a local butcher and specialty store with a deli selection and catering! They carry everything from prime & premium choice beef, to produce and dairy – with a section stocked full of freshly prepared foods – ready to serve.
I teamed up with The Home Depot to create a DIY Rustic Shelving Unit, a projected I wanted to share with all of you! Something you can easily create for your own home.
Halloween is by far my favorite holiday (aside from my own birthday). I love the idea that for one night you can become anything from your wildest dreams of adventure - it gives a certain power to creativity and imagination (two things I live for!). With so many ideas and dreams for this particular party I sort of combined a mixture of ideas and themes.
It's no secret I'm a HUGE fan of fall! If fall were to have a cheerleading team, I'd be captain. There something so fresh about the air, it gives off the warmest feeling, not in temperature but a feeling for the soul!
Styling a dining space is the beginning to a great meal! A neutral base is my go-to: I like to start out with a more monochromatic palette using neutrals in the bigger pieces - table and chairs; then, depending on each meal, I'll add in a theme or color to jazz things up with the tabletop details - placemats, napkins, flowers or seating cards...
Every event needs a cheese platter - a laid-back spring time backyard BBQ, Sunday football gathering, a Halloween party, Thanksgiving feast or a New Years Eve soirée, this platter idea can cater to any style gathering.
Where do you look to find inspiration? In my opinion, it's all around. I find the smallest of details to spark ideas, passion and design inspiration. Recently, I took a trip to Louisville, Kentucky, a place filled with old wooden beams and rolling hills lined by white houses with black shutters I was nothing less than (southern) charmed and inspired to recreate my own entryway to make it a little more farmhouse inspired and inviting.
